A London King’s Coronation Celebration

Welcome to London, our lively capital city of celebrations. There's always something going on in the capital of England, but one event that you cannot afford to miss is the King's Coronation celebration. This special occasion marks the crowning of the new King of England and is a time for the nation to come together in joy and celebration.

The King’s Coronation celebration is a long-standing tradition in London, and it is marked by a public holiday on the day of the Coronation. This means that all residents of London and tourists alike can head out and join in the festivities around the city.

The Coronation will take place between the 6th and 8th of May. The main event is held in Westminster Abbey and is conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. This is a momentous occasion and one that is steeped in tradition dating back to the 12th century.

But the celebration doesn’t end there. After the Coronation ceremony, a parade is held throughout the city streets where locals and tourists alike are invited to line the streets and cheer on the new King. This is a time for dressing up and showing your support for the new monarch. There are also street parties held across the city, where you can mingle with the friendly locals and take part in traditional dances and games.

King's Coronation In London

If you want to avoid the crowds, make sure to head out early in the morning and get a good spot along the parade route. This way, you’ll be able to see the procession up close and personal without the hassle of big crowds.

If you’re lucky enough to be in London during the King’s Coronation Celebration, there are plenty of fun things to see and do. There will be a special Coronation concert at Windsor Castle that is being broadcast live by the BBC. Taking place on the same day is the Coronation Big Lunch which encourages neighbours and communities across the country to share food and fun together. Also, since it’s a public holiday, many of the museums and galleries are open for free, and there’s a plethora of events and shows happening throughout the city.

To mark this special occasion, Lost Property hotel will be serving exclusive food and drinks throughout the Coronation weekend. Alongside our Brunch menu, you can also choose from our delicious Coddled eggs served with bread soldiers and your choice of bacon, ham or Boudin noir. This is available for £15 and will be served from 11:30am to 3pm. Our vegetarian option is also available for £12 and you can choose from tomato, mushroom or spinach to be added in the eggs.

Available from 11:30 am to 11:30 pm, we are also serving guests a range of new cocktails to celebrate the Coronation. To celebrate King Charles III, our Red Squirrel Martini is named after his favourite animal and features the King’s favourite whisky, Laphroaig.

Throughout May, we will be introducing a selection of unique cocktails crafted with the limited release Hendrick’s Neptunia Gin. Our bartenders will be using their expertise to craft these cocktails using a variety of fresh ingredients, combining the unique flavour of the Neptunia Gin with the perfect balance of taste and texture. We are excited to showcase these original recipes and invite our customers to come and explore the possibilities of the Neptunia Gin.
