The hospitality industry contributes up to 15% of the UK’s greenhouse gas emissions, around 8 million tonnes. Our Path to Green Key Excellence

Though our sustainability journey is just beginning, Lost Property has already taken significant steps, starting with the smaller yet crucial initiatives. One of our pivotal endeavours is tackling food waste, a pervasive issue in the hospitality domain. We’ve partnered with TooGoodToGo to offer our surplus food at reduced rates, already saving 502 tonnes and counting of food from going to landfill.

Another notable accomplishment is our re-hydrated fruit. To save our fruit from going directly to waste, we are able to rehydrate it for use in our delicious cocktails at the Found Bar and Restaurant. This way, we deliver high quality drinks whilst also supporting the planet.

Moreover, all of the coffee that we serve in our rooms, through our partnership with Cru Cafe, is 100% organic. Alongside this, the capsules are fully recyclable, meaning that our coffee journey for our guests is sustainable from start to finish.

Last but not least, one of our top achievements is the recent installation of our new beehives, through our partnership with Alvéole. These hives, packed with 18000 buzzing bees, provide fresh honey to our guests at Lost Property, in the centre of St Pauls. This enables us to produce around 100 mini jars of fresh honey per year.

In the long term, this allows us to source even more fresh ingredients that match the exceptional quality we provide to our guests.
